To register for the upcoming audition:
Candidates must be legally able to accept work with the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra at the time of the audition. All candidates will be required to demonstrate this legal eligibility prior to taking the audition. For example: a driver’s license and social security card or passport is sufficient confirmation of this status.
During the 2017-2018 season, the IPO will perform at Ozinga Chapel, located at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights. The IPO performs approximately 30 services per season which runs from October to May.
The 2017-2018 season scale is as follows:
- Principal: $113.88
- Assistant Principal: $102.49
- Section: $91.10
All musicians also receive mileage and 6.54% AFM/EPF pension contribution. Musicians performing with the IPO must be a member in good standing of either Chicago Local 10-208 or Joliet Local 37
Audition winners will be offered the 2017-2018 season beginning with the Classic II Subscription, November 15-18.
To secure an audition time, send a one-page resume and a $50 deposit check made out to Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra. Please include your phone number and email address on your resume. Please mail to the following address and indicate your instrument as follows:

Application Deadline for all positions is Monday, September 18th. Your deposit must be postmarked no later than the application deadline date. Times will be assigned after the deadline. Please keep your schedule clear on the day of the audition to avoid any conflicts.
